We’re the Purists, Rosie and Jack. Two people who adore Auckland’s Italian restaurants. The candlelight, the chatter, the bowl of something silky and perfectly al dente. Pure magic. But with the cost of living climbing, those dinners became more and more of an rare treat than a monthly ritual.

On the nights we didn’t have time (or want) to cook from scratch, we couldn’t find anything that was both convenient and genuinely high quality. It always felt like a choice; spend an hour in the kitchen or compromise on flavour and ingredients.

Sometimes our schedules mean we need to stay in. Other times we just want to pour a glass of wine, put on a playlist, and eat in the comfort of our own home. No queues, no Uber across town, no missed or forgotten reservations.

We tried the usual delivery options, but they often arrived late, cold, and a bit bashed about. Not exactly the mood we were going for.
