FAQs
What's included in a kit?
Everything the dish needs: fresh pasta, the finished sauce, and any toppings like freshly grated Parmesan or pangrattato. You cook the pasta, bring it together with the sauce, and plate up. Full contents are listed on each product page.
How many does a kit feed?
Each kit is a double portion: 200g of fresh pasta and 160g of sauce, or 16 ravioli with their flavoured butter. Dinner for two, or one very good dinner twice.
How long does it take to cook?
Most of our dishes are on the table within 5 to 10 minutes. Fresh tagliatelle and pappardelle cook in 2 to 3 minutes; ravioli take a little longer. Every kit comes with step-by-step instructions, and the full method for each dish lives on our Recipes page.
Where do your ingredients come from?
New Zealand producers first, wherever quality allows. You can read more about how we source on our Sustainability page.
Storage & Freshness
How fresh is the pasta?
We make it fresh and deliver it chilled. Use it by the use-by date printed on the packaging and keep it in the fridge until you cook.
How do I store my kit?
Straight into the fridge as soon as it arrives, and keep everything chilled until you cook. Each component has its own storage instructions on the packaging.
Can I freeze the pasta?
Yes. The fresh pasta freezes well for up to 8 weeks. Defrost it in the fridge overnight before cooking, and cook it as normal the next day.
How does my order stay cold on the way to me?
Every order ships in insulated packaging with ice packs, designed to hold a safe chilled temperature through the delivery run. Put everything in the fridge as soon as it arrives.
Delivery
Where do you deliver?
Auckland metro. Pop your postcode into our delivery checker to see if we reach you. If we're not in your area yet, leave your email there and you'll be the first to know when we expand. We don't deliver to PO boxes.
When do you deliver?
Every Tuesday and Friday. Order by 12pm the day before (Monday for Tuesday delivery, Thursday for Friday delivery) and your pasta arrives fresh on the next delivery day. You'll choose your delivery day in the cart when you order.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is calculated at checkout based on your address, and free on orders over $85.
What if I'm not home?
Our courier will leave your order in a safe place, and the chilled packaging keeps everything cold for a few hours. Because the products are perishable, we recommend being home if you can, or leaving clear delivery instructions at checkout.
Can I track my delivery?
Yes. Once your order is dispatched you'll get an email with a tracking number for our courier partner.
Subscriptions
How do subscriptions work?
Build your menu, choose weekly, fortnightly, or monthly delivery, and your box arrives on your chosen day. You can also order one-off with no subscription at all.
Can I skip a delivery or pause my subscription?
Yes, any time from the My Account area, or email us. To skip or pause an upcoming delivery, make the change before 12pm the day before your delivery day (12pm Monday for Tuesday, 12pm Thursday for Friday).
How do I cancel my subscription?
From the My Account area, any time, with no cancellation fee. The same cut-off applies: cancel before 12pm the day before your next delivery to avoid being charged for it.
Can I change the dishes in my subscription?
Yes. Email hello@pastapurists.co.nz before your cut-off and we'll adjust your upcoming delivery for you.
Dietary & Allergens
Are your products suitable for vegetarians?
Several of our dishes are vegetarian. Check the dietary tags on each product page.
Do you have vegan options?
Our Roasted Red Pepper Crema sauce is plant-based. Our fresh pasta is made with egg, so to keep a dish fully vegan, pair the sauce with a dried pasta at home. The dietary tags on each product page show what's what.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Not yet. Our fresh pasta is made with wheat flour and egg, so none of our current dishes are gluten-free. If that changes, you'll hear about it here first.
How do I check allergens?
Every product page lists the full ingredients and allergens for each component of the kit, and everything is printed on the packaging too. Our kitchen handles wheat, gluten, egg, milk, soy, nuts, and sulphites, so we can't guarantee any product is completely free of an allergen. If you have a severe allergy, get in touch before ordering: hello@pastapurists.co.nz
Orders & Getting in Touch
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, up to 12pm the day before your delivery day. Email hello@pastapurists.co.nz and we'll sort it. After that your order is already being made and packed, so we can't make changes.
Something's wrong with my order. What do I do?
Email hello@pastapurists.co.nz as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours for chilled products, with a photo of the product and packaging. If it arrived damaged, warm, incomplete, or below the standard you'd expect from us, we'll put it right with a replacement or refund. Full details are in our Refund Policy.
Do you do wholesale or corporate orders?
For wholesale, bulk, or corporate enquiries, email hello@pastapurists.co.nz and we'll talk.
How do I get in touch?
Email hello@pastapurists.co.nz, call us on 021 745 580, or use the contact form on our website. We're a two-person kitchen, so give us a little time and we'll always come back to you.
